Tony Ball has been a senior advisor with Providence since 2012. He was chairman of Kabel Deutschland from 2005 and led the company’s management and business transformation and IPO in 2010, culminating in the sale of KDG to Vodafone in 2013.
Prior to joining KDG, he served as CEO of BSkyB, the largest pay- TV broadcaster in Europe where he led the company through its strongest period of growth by doubling the subscriber count and converting the entire subscriber base from analog to digital. Previously, he was the CEO of the News Corporation/Liberty Media joint venture, Fox/Liberty Networks, which included the FX Networks, Fox Sports Net and over 20 regional sports channels throughout the US. He also served as president of Fox Sports International where he oversaw the creation and the operation of sports television businesses in North America, Latin America, Asia and Australia.
Mr. Ball is the chairman of Airties and Bitė Group, and serves on the boards of Ambassador Theatre Group and Másmóvil.
Mr. Ball received a Master of Business Administration from Kingston University and has been awarded honorary doctorates from both Middlesex University and Kingston University. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Television Society and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology.
